Precast concrete, either standard or pre-stressed and also architectural structures, is an ideal building material for the tropical Papua New Guinea climate. Recent years have seen a marked increase in its use. Practically the whole of the Pacific Games Village was constructed from precast concrete panels. CB Builders are currently supplying panels for the new APEC Centre. CB Builders have been at the forefront of this development and have made innovative use of precast panels in its own building projects at Harbour City and Motukea Island.
Pre-stressed concrete is also a favoured product in civil construction. CB builders manufacture and supply sections of pre-stressed concrete for the construction of bridges and wharves, not only in Port Moresby but in Ports all over Papua New Guinea. The manufacture of pre-stressed and standard sections of precast concrete is a complex operation and requires immense precision in complying with architectural plans and construction drawings. CB Builders has developed an enviable reputation in this field.
